A very cool summer day at Stone Garden Vineyards
indeed.
I had just arrived at the winery and was talking to
the event coordinator when Jessy J walks up to us.
After a pleasant introduction I was charged with
escorting her and her party to the green room.
Great timing!
Well, some kind of glitch or unexpected issue
always pops up in concerts and this show was no
exception when the lighting guys failed to show. I
offered to bring in my own concert lighting from my
studio and the show was back on track.
Next I broke out the Cannon for some sound check
shots and got some great ones. I actually enjoy
shooting at sound check more than the show. I get
a chance to capture the artist playing for the
music and not the audience. Its provides special
moments people rarely see and a unique behind
the scenes perspective.
Now it was time to pick up my wife, grab some
wine and shoot this gig.
The opener Analysis was great with the highlight
being the young drummer Taylor Burrise. This kid is
going places I guarantee it.
Jessy was up and put on a wonderful performance.
Her strong vocals and a few cover tunes
complimented her smooth jazz chart topping hits.
A fantastic encore and it was time to say
goodnight.
